ON THE RADAR
So much hype around the brand Nécessaire lately! I'm especially curious about their Body Retinol after reading on Into the Gloss that it helps with keratosis pilaris. Typically I wouldn’t use retinol (and the price tag is daunting) but KP can be so stubborn. I haven’t found a product that actually works… yet. I keep seeing so many ads for the Sidia Solid Perfume and it’s now at Detox Market! Also, Three Ships has a new eye cream also worth checking out. Their original eye cream is 10/10. After testing a ton of options, it’s the only one I’ve seen actually brighten my under eyes with consistent use.
WILL REBUY
I will recommend this product to anyone that listens. Province Apothecary’s Oil Cleanser + Makeup Remover is a staple in my routine and even if you’re not wearing makeup, it’s a super hydrating option. Oil actually helps to balance oily skin, so it works for the girls with oily skin types too. Read this if you’re unsure about oil cleansing.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Speaking of rebuying, I adore the Ozonated Dew Dab from Living Libations. I catch my boyfriend stealing it constantly (the scent is strong so it’s obvious). It’s shrinks blemishes without leaving them flaky and dry and lasts forever because you only need a very small amount. Some spot treatments reduce blemish size but are way too drying. You won’t see me with the pimple patches bs. No shade, but do they actually do anything? Genuine question.
JUST FINISHED
My desert island product is definitely the Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever but I just went through a bottle of the Rose and loved it. Smells heavenly. My skin leans red and irritated quite quickly and the rose is so calming. It’s key to cycle your favourite skincare products so why not cycle different versions of your favourite product? Finish with a rose water spray.
FIRST TIME TRYING
Living Libations’ hair care is expensive but their shampoo has magic hair growing capabilities. They only have two shampoos (Sea Buckthorn and True Blue Spirulina) and two conditioners (Shine On and Spirulina), but recently introduced a new set geared toward curly hair. Trying the Calendula Conditioner and like everything else from LL, it has a unique scent and vibrant orange hue that gives spring. You can use it as a curl creme, leave in, or styling product. Notable hair loving ingredients; jojoba, coltsfoot, horsetail and nettles. Also trying their new Castor Oil + Rosemary Roller for brow growth. We love a roller, especially for brows! I wouldn’t recommend applying any castor oil right before bed as it takes a while to absorb. Massaging it into your brow may increase benefits. Will report back about the conditioner and roller!
RANDOM NOTES
I sampled Ilia’s Limitless Lash Clean Lengthening Mascara new brown colour and was disappointed. It didn’t look brown at all! The RMS formula is better overall. Get the travel mini and try it! Finally, are we really buying products strictly based on their scent? These days every brand seems to have a perfume, plus a lineup of heavily scented products. It’s getting to be a bit much and I don’t want to hear the word "santal” for a very long time. Expect an article about fragrance coming soon. You may take a second look at some cult favourite products after reading.
Here to share, not scare. Happy weekend!
