Every single one of these is SO nostalgic. It’s Spring and snowing, so accept this pathetic attempt at helping you feel something. Mind the photo quality, some of these were hard to dig up.
Enter the Neutrogena Wave. Needed this strictly because miss Vanessa Hudgens, aka Gabriella, was in the commercial. Back then not every celebrity had a brand they were shoving down our throats 247/7. All we cared about was High School Musical and the girlies so, this marketing was genius.
Next, the iconic Lip Smacker collection. Smelled like a mixture of crayons and some oddly specific flavour.
The impractical gloss. We couldn’t get cell phones, but we could get a phone shaped lip gloss. Genius marketing. Whoever came up with this concept deserves a Nobel Peace Prize.
Maybelline’s Dream Matte Mousse. No words other than I haven’t seen a single person use it without looking insane. The colour never matched and it was SO. THICK.
I believe I speak for all of us in saying we wanted streaks like Avril. Enter the Ice Spiker Colorz.
Can still smell these. What even were they?
No comment here. I shudder to think about the ingredients…
DOORWAY BEADS. Completely impractical, so of course these were a must have. Tangled if you looked at them the wrong way and annoyed my dad beyond. Obviously that made me love them even more!
While we’re on the topic of decor, these blow-up chairs were also hype.
The Easy-Bake oven is in a category of its own. Everything about it is fascinating.
The magazines. Tiger Beat, J-14, Bop, Seventeen and Twist. Quizzes and posters galore. Top tier content and I specifically remember this Hilary Duff one.
Speaking of Hilary, Stuff by Duff is also a core memory. Zellers was still in its prime then. </3
As if anyone cared about our drama, diaries had to have a lock. Write a few pages, lose the key, forget about it, repeat.
Expect part two because there are SO many more. For now, browse these y2k pinterest boards to unlock memories you thought you forgot about until this very moment: Nostalgia Core, Magazine Quizzes, Early 2000’s Nostalgia
Awesome. It sure went fast.
